Remote Learning

While remote learning is expected to be a rare occurrence, Bournemouth Park Academy is fully prepared to support pupils in the event of a prolonged school closure. This may be due to exceptional circumstances such as severe weather, public health concerns, or other unforeseen disruptions.

Every effort will be made to ensure that curriculum quality, breadth and balance are not sacrificed where pupils are required to learn remotely.

  • Remote learning will be a combination of online lessons, set work via the Academy website or Purple Mash / Times Tables Rockstars and recorded lessons.
  • The principles and qualities underpinning effective teaching and learning are fundamentally the same, irrespective of whether learning takes place remotely or in the classroom.
  • Online learning will be complemented with academic resources to support pupils’ acquisition of knowledge and consolidation of skills.
  • Teachers will assess pupils’ remote learning in appropriate ways. Depending on the nature of the work that pupils are completing, some assessment may be immediate, as it would be within the classroom, while other assessments may be completed based on any work submitted to the class teacher via email and Class Dojo.
  • Work will be provided in advance on the Academy website and a timetable will be shared for families to follow where possible.
